Meet our faculty.
We believe our purpose is to instill a love of learning in all students. We provide our students with the foundational skills needed for their future. We hope to inspire students to be great thinkers and curious about the world around them. We strive to teach our second graders to be good citizens who are kind and compassionate.

I have been a teacher for 21 years. I have taught preK, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade. I have two children. Casey is twenty years old and attends Brenau University. Her major is nursing. Garrison is a proud member of Mill Creek High School and is sixteen. I have one cat and he is secretly my other child. I love my job and find teaching one of the most fulfilling professions. I have a degree in Early Childhood from Augusta State University and a Master's Degree from Piedmont College. I also earned a Gifted Endorsement last year.

I have always known that I would be a teacher. I enjoy children and working with others, so teaching school is a perfect fit for me.
I am a Gwinnett County “Kiddo”, and so honored to be an educator here, too. I attended W.C. Britt Elementary, Snellville Middle, and graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1989. Then I happily attended Georgia Southern University. I graduated with a B.S. in Middle Grades Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and Social Studies. Later, I earned my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College.
I have taught in various schools districts (South Georgia, Texas, and Gwinnett County) and grade levels ranging from K-8. I have learned so much from every situation and have developed a strong philosophy of education, “Creativity and Motivation Equals Learning”.
In 2003, I had the honor to become engaged at school with a former fifth grade class as witnesses. My husband, Patrick, knew that teaching was my first love. I am happy to have this memory with a school connection. Later in our family life, we had two amazing children (Emli Jaye and Jett), and I took a break to enjoy their baby years. I missed teaching, so I came back to my passion. It was a great decision…and I am super excited about being a part of Harmony Elementary’s Family and Staff!
In closing, my interests are being with friends and family as often as possible. I love reading, traveling, watching football, and being with my husband and children. I personally think that busy times make memories.
I have been married 35 years, have 4 adopted children, and four grandchildren.
I graduated from the University of Florida and have been teaching 20+ years.
In addition to teaching in public school I have also worked with premature infants and failure to thrive babies; the goal helping them to thrive and "catch up" from their time in the NICU. I was also the educational coordinator for a shelter for abused and neglected children.
