I am originally from Lawrenceville having attended Norcross Elementary, Crews Middle, and Brookwood High School. This year will mark my 9th year teaching and my 9th year at Harmony! I graduated from Georgia College and State University in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and then began teaching 4th grade. I attended graduate school at Kennesaw State University and obtained a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am Reading and Gifted endorsed. This will be my fifth year in 5th grade! I truly enjoy teaching and I love history!
I am married to my husband, Drake, of six years and we have a 5 year old daughter (Riley) and a 9 month old son (Rhett). I also have a chocolate lab named Brick. In my spare time, I like to read, attempt crafts, and spend time with my family.
I am a native of Gwinnett County. I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development, Mercer University with my M.A.T. in Early Childhood Education and my Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership. Additionally, I am ESOL and Gifted endorsed. I have been teaching for 10 years and truly love what I do! I have been married for 10 years to my high school sweetheart, Charles, who is also a teacher. We have two wonderful boys who are 4 (Will) and 2 (Nathan).
I grew up in Gwinnett County, attending R.D.Head Elementary, Five Forks Middle, and Brookwood High. I went to Georgia Southern University and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Child and Family Development. I furthered my education with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern and a Specialist’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State. I am also ESOL and Gifted endorsed.
While at Georgia Southern, I met my husband Seth and we married in 2009. We have one son, Patrick. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling and reading.
Teaching is my passion! I started my career working at Cedar Hill Elementary in Lawrenceville for seven years before coming to Harmony. I love being a Harmony Wildcat!
I am excited to be entering my second year as a Harmony Wildcat! 2016-2017 will mark my 10th year in education, and third in 5th grade. I grew up in Florida, and graduated from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. Prior to moving to Georgia in the fall of 2014, I taught first, second, and third grades in Hillsborough County, Florida for a combined 7 years.
I have been married for 5 years, and my husband, James, and I live in Lawrenceville. We have two adorable pets - a shih Tzu named Sophie, and an adopted cat named Karinka. Outside of teaching, I enjoy many activities. I am passionate about the outdoors and living a healthy lifestyle. I love to play disc golf, spend time on the water, cooking, and watching football (Go Seminoles)! I live by the theory that life should be lived to its fullest, and I strive to lead by example for my students. I’m looking forward to another wonderful year at Harmony, and meeting my new students and families!
