Curriculum Information State Of Georgia Information Georgia is implementing a standards-based, world-class curriculum called the Georgia Performance Standards or GPS. The GPS outlines clear expectations for what students should know and be able to do at each grade level and in each core subject. You can see these standards for writing at : http://www.georgiastandards.org/index.aspx#guide The State also has Parent Information at: http://public.doe.k12.ga.us/parents.aspx Gwinnett County Public School Academic Knowledge & Skills Gwinnett’s curriculum for grades K-12 is called the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS). The AKS for each grade level (or subject area at the high school level) spell out the essential things students are expected to know and be able to do in that particular grade or subject. They offer a solid base on which teachers build rich curricular experiences. Teachers use curriculum guides, textbooks, technology, and other materials to teach the AKS and to make sure every student is learning to his or her potential.
