Harmony Counseling Department

This school year (2010-2011), Tina Byrne is our school counselor. Mrs. Byrne works with all grade levels kindergarten through 5th grade at Harmony.  She serves as a member of student support teams, provides consultation, supports the school staff and parents, and provides direct support to the students.  Mrs. Byrne emphasizes prevention through education, as well as intervention.  Mrs. Byrne is in constant collaboration with other counselors, instructional staff, other support team members, parents, and community agencies to increase the effectiveness of the education process to ensure success for all students.

Your Counselor Also…

 ·        Talks with students individually or in groups

·        Works with students in her office or in their classroom

·        Helps in identifying the needs of the students

·        Promotes POSITIVE attitudes among the students

·        Helps with referrals inside and outside of school

·        Assists teachers and parents in helping children

·        Coordinates efforts with other school specialists

·        Is an advocate for children

·        Understands just how special each child is!
